Call for Papers: Volume 2; Issue 1

Middle East mass media are among the most vibrant, dynamic media systems on the global mediascape. While they remain among the least “free” information dissemination systems in the world, according to annual Freedom House reports, Arabs are increasingly finding them a source for their creative outlets. From documentary filmmaking to cartooning, Arab producers are exploring their identity and the nuances of their diverse cultures. The spring/summer 2012 edition of the Global Media Journal-Arabian Edition seeks to explore these creative efforts in the Middle East by examining Arab popular culture.
